Boca Bowl

The 2017 cheribundi® Boca Raton Bowl will be played on Tuesday December 19th on Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium between  Conference USA Champion, Florida Atlantic University, and MAC East Division Champions, Akron (which fell to Toledo in the MId-American Conference Championship).
The game is scheduled for 7PM where it will be broadcast on ESPN and will be a home game for Lane Kiffin’s FAU squad.
This will be the fourth version of the Boca Raton Bowl. Last year Western Kentucky beat Memphis in a high-scoring game, with the Hilltoppers winning 51-31.
To win the cheribundi® Boca Raton bowl, you’re going to have to score some points. All three winners of the game have scored at least 30 points, with two of the teams scoring over 50 points in their wins.
Last year, Western Kentucky, who was without coach Jeff Brohm, who had left for the Purdue job, racked up 51 points and took down Memphis. In 2014, Marshall, led by Rakeem Cato, poured in 52 points in a win over Northern Illinois. In 2015, Toledo beat Temple 32-17.
Among bowl eligible teams from the MAC, Akron (7-6), Toledo, Western Michigan, Ohio, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan and Buffalo all qualified for bowl eligibility.
Among Conference USA teams, FAU (10-3), FIU, North Texas, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, Southern Miss and UTSA are eligible. UAB will play in the Bahamas Bowl.
